This is Money
Along with This is London, This is Money is one of the two long-established websites that existed at ANM before I joined. Launched originally in 1996 it remained largely unchanged for nearly 8 years and so was in need of serious modernisation.
Like the redesign of This is London before it, it required a very careful overhaul in order to widen its appeal without disappointing it's extremely loyal and long-standing userbase. Almost all elements of the site were re-vamped, from its logo to its architecture, while trying to retain the distinctive flavour of the site.
Using up-to-date coding techniques, the site debuted many modern features for the company including collapsible advertising tenancies and RSS feeds. It also goes further than the great majority of its competition and peers in the area of user accessibility, and is built virtually table-free using XHTML and CSS.
The site has been nominated for, and won, numerous industry and consumer awards, including the Association of British Insurers' award for Financial Website of the Year in 2004.
